Plans for MCPRB
The Morgan County Parks and Recreation Board recognizes the importance of committing to a parks and recreation master planning process. The board understands the limited funding available from the county property tax base, the importance of parks and recreation opportunities to its citizens, and the need to plan for maintenance of its existing park and the development of new parks and services. The board will rely on the master planning process to establish priorities and to define realistic objectives given the county’s present and future budgets. The department is also submitting the master plan to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources Division of Outdoor Recreation to satisfy eligibility requirements for Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant programs and other state and federal grant programs. The priorities emanating from this 5‐year master plan are the result of a detailed facility and program inventory, public input, budget and organizational review, and an analysis of specific challenges and opportunities in Morgan County. Throughout this plan priorities and recommendations are defined according to the realistic benefit to the residents of and visitors to Morgan County.
